Istanbul kitchen · Thong Lo

Turkish home cooking, made fresh by our family every morning.

We are a Turkish family from Istanbul, and this is the food we grew up eating. Our mother cooks in the kitchen every morning, just like she did at home. We keep things simple, fresh and made with care.

We have only a few tables, so booking ahead is always a good idea.

Our mother does the cooking

It is our mother in the kitchen, cooking the recipes she made for us back home in Istanbul. The same food, made fresh here in Bangkok.

A small family restaurant

We only have a few tables, which is part of what makes the place feel like home. If you are coming in the evening, we recommend booking ahead.

Turkish food has plenty of choices

There is much more to Turkish food than kebabs. We have plenty of vegetable dishes too. If you have a question about a dish, just ask us.

A few of our family's favourites

There is more on the menu, of course. These are a few of the dishes our guests come back for.

İmam Bayıldı

฿240

“ee-MAHM bye-YUHL-duh”

Aubergine slowly cooked in olive oil with onion, tomato and garlic until soft and full of flavour. Its name means "the imam fainted". There are a few stories about why.

İskender

฿520

“is-ken-DER”

Thinly sliced döner served over pieces of bread with tomato sauce, yoghurt and hot melted butter. A proper Turkish classic.

Mantı

฿420

“mahn-TUH”

Tiny dumplings folded by hand and served with garlic yoghurt, melted butter and dried mint. Our mother spends the morning making them. They are worth the wait.

Künefe

฿280

“kyu-NEH-feh”

Fine shredded pastry with stretchy cheese, baked until crisp and finished with syrup. We serve it hot, so please order it with your main if you want it for dessert.

Our family

We came from Istanbul, and we brought the food we love with us.

[PLACEHOLDER. Replace with the real story from the interview.] We are a family from Istanbul. Our mother cooks, and the rest of us are here to welcome you, serve you and keep everything running. We opened Turkish Home because we missed the food we grew up with. So we decided to make it here in Bangkok and share it with you.
